JUNIOR MARKET GOAT SHOW
SPECIAL RULES

RULE 1:
All entries in this department are subject to the General Rules of the Harris County Fair and Special Rules of the Junior
Livestock Show.

RULE 2:
Entries are open to whethers ONLY

RULE 3:
All goats must be validated at the time and place to be determined by the show management. (See Important Dates)

RULE 4:
All goats must have horns tipped blunt (no smaller than the diameter of a nickel) prior to arrival on the Fair Grounds.
Removal of horns will not be permitted on the grounds.

RULE 5:
Goats must be slick shorn above the knee and hock joints, excluding the tail switch, prior to arrival on the Fair Grounds.
There will be no shearing of goats after arrival, with either electric or manual clippers.

RULE 6:
Goats must weigh a minimum of 50 pounds and a maximum of 135 pounds.

RULE 7:
Top three placing goats will be weighed in each class. Goats weighing five (5) pounds greater than or less than weights at
weigh in will be disqualified.

RULE 8:
Any goat sold through a livestock show auction since the beginning of the feeding period will be ineligible to show.

RULE 9:
All breeds will show together with goats divided by weights into five (5) classes, as equal as possible.

RULE 10:
Exhibitors will show by using either neck collars or halters.

RULE 11:
First Place Goats and Second Place Goats in each class MUST sell in auction.
