JUNIOR LIVESTOCK JUDGING CONTEST
SPECIAL RULES

RULE 1:
All entries in this department are subject to the General Rules of the Harris County Fair and Special Rules of the Junior Livestock Show.

RULE 2:
Contestants must be enrolled in school and have not graduated from high school. They must be an active 4-H or FFA member in good standing with their respective organization.

RULE 3:
The contest will be divided into two (2) divisions:
SENIOR DIVISION: 14 years of age or older (but not graduated from high school).
JUNIOR DIVISION: 13 years of age and under, age determined as of October 1.

RULE 4:
Teams will be composed of four (4) members. All members must be accompanied by an advisor or team coach.

RULE 5:
A county or chapter may enter as many teams as desired.

RULE 6:
Approximately 10 minutes will be allowed per class.

RULE 7:
A possible 7 classes will be judged.

RULE 8:
Registration will be $5.00 per individual.

RULE 9:
Awards will be presented to the high scoring individuals and the high placing teams.

RULE 10:
NO livestock-judging contestants will be allowed in the the livestock judging area.

RULE 11:
Animals used in livestock judging contest will stay in arena 30 minutes after results are given.

RULE 12:
Some kind of notification card will be posted at the exhibitor’s pen or stall if that exhibitor was not previously notified. An effort will be made to notify all exhibitors prior to using their animals.
