JUNIOR AUCTION SALE
SPECIAL RULES

RULE 1:
This sale is limited to projects owned, personally fed and cared for by Harris County 4-H, FCCLA, and members in good standing with their organizations and respective schools.

RULE 2:
Participants may sell only one (1) entry per division and only two (2) sale entries from all divisions. In the event an exhibitor has more than two auction items, they must choose the two which will be sold and notify the Fair Office by 6:00 p.m. Friday, October 22, 2010. NOTE: Silent Auction are considered as Auction Items. Any participant who sells more than two Auction Items will forfeit the proceeds of the extra items to the scholarship fund of the Houston Farm & Ranch (unless conflict with Rule #4).

RULE 3:
All Grand Champions and Reserve Grand Champions MUST sell even if an exhibitor has more than 2 auction items. All Breed Champions and Reserve Breed Champions MUST also sell.

RULE 4:
Sale commission will be 8% per sale lot (including add-ons) plus $15.00 for pictures for lots sold in the live auction.

RULE 5:
IT IS MANDATORY THAT EXHIBITORS BRING AN ORIGINAL THANK YOU LETTER WRITTEN TO THEIR BUYER TO THE FAIR OFFICE BEFORE CHECKS WILL BE RELEASED. THE FAIR WILL MAIL THE THANK YOU LETTERS AND BUYERS PICTURES!

RULE 6:
All Junior Livestock Show Auction Sale Checks will be issued prior to December 31 of the current year. If Buyer has paid his bill if not by February 1.

RULE 7:
The exhibitor or an approved substitute must take all sale items into the Auction Ring. See Rule 14 under General Agriculture Rules.

RULE 8:
First Place and Second Place Swine in each class MUST sell.
First Place Lambs in each class MUST sell.
First Place and Second Place Goats in each class MUST sell.
The top ten (10) in Broilers, Turkeys and Rabbits will go to live auction.
The Live Auction will also consist of four (4) Horticulture Projects, and six (6) Home Economics Projects.

RULE 9:
This will be a terminal sale. The Puchaser cannot donate back the project to the exhibitor or the exhibitor’s family.
All buyers of broilers, turkeys and rabbits will be issued vouchers for a comparable dressed product.

RULE 10:
No artificial dressing will be allowed in the auction ring. Animals, home economics and school art must sell as they were shown.

RULE 11:
The Live Auction will consist of a maximum of 80 Sale Lots.
