JUNIOR MARKET LAMB SHOW
SPECIAL RULES
RULE 1:
All entries in this department are subject to the General Rules of the Harris County Fair and Special Rules of the Junior Livestock Show.
RULE 2:
All lambs must be validated at the time and place determined by the show management. See Important Dates.
RULE 3:
Minimum Weight Limits are:
Medium Wool ............................................................ 100 pounds
Southdown.................................................................. 80 pounds
Tolerance 3 lbs.
No maximum weight limit
RULE 4:
Exhibitors must declare breed at weigh in. If a lamb is classified out of his declared breed, he will be placed in the Medium Wool and allowed to show according to the weight class. Light weight Southdowns will not be disqualified by weight. Classifiers decision is final. Top three placing lambs will be weighed in each class. Lambs weighing five (5) pounds greater than or less than weights at weigh in will be disqualified.
RULE 5:
Whether lambs and Ewe may be shown. Scrapies Tag in Ewe ear or animal has to leave Fair cannot compete.
RULE 6:
All lambs must be slick shorn from knee and hock up prior to arrival. The only exception will be that Southdowns may leave the wool on the ears.
RULE 7:
Any lamb sold through a livestock show auction since the beginning of the feeding period will be ineligible to show.
RULE 8:
If 20 or more lambs are in any class the class will be broken into another class.
RULE 9:
First Place Lambs in each class MUST sell in auction. unless in conflict with Rules #two (2) andthree (3) in Jr. Auction Special Rules.
RULE 10:
Breed Divisions will be:
Southdown
Medium Wool
RULE 11:
Five (5) to constitute Breed
