CALF SCRAMBLE HEIFER SHOW
SPECIAL RULES

RULE 1:
All entries in this department are subject to the General Rules of the Harris County Fair and rules shown on the Calf Scramble application.

RULE 2:
Participants in the Calf Scramble will be limited to the Harris County FFA and 4-H Club members.

RULE 3:
Animals entered in this department must be registered by the respective breed associations and in the name of the exhibitor 30 days after the last scramble of the Houston Livestock Show Calf Scramble or Star of Texas Scramble.

RULE 4:
This department is only open to Scramble Heifers caught by exhibitors in the 2009 Harris County Fair Heifer Scramble.

RULE 5:
All Scramble Heifers must show in order to complete their obligation. Those not completing their obligation may be asked to return the $900.00 Certificate Price. Upon completion of your obligation, you will receive a check for $150.00. Any exonerating circumstances must be addressed by the Calf Scramble Committee, the Livestock Superintendent, and the FFA/4-H Liaison Representatives.

RULE 6:
Scrapbook and essays are due at the Houston Farm & Ranch office by 5:00 p.m. Friday October 1, 2010.

RULE 7:
Last monthly report is due by Tuesday, October 5, 2010.

RULE 8: SUBSTITUTE EXHIBITORS
See rule 14 in General Agriculture Rules and Regulations.

RULE 9:
Classes for Scramble Heifers will be as follows:
A. American Division: Brahman, Brangus, Red Brangus, Santa Gertrudis, Simbrah, and Beefmaster.
B. English (British) Division: Angus, Red Angus, Hereford, Polled Hereford, and Shorthorn.
C. European Division: Charolais, Limousin, Simmental, and Maine-Anjou and Chiania.

RULE 10:
Class Champions and Reserve Class Champions awards will be presented along with Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion Scramble Heifer of the Fair.

RULE 11:
Awards will be presented for the best ESSAY, MONTHLY REPORTS, SCRAPBOOK, SHOWMANSHIP, and BEST HERDSMAN.
